Chief Executive Officer HomeWorks Energy Medford, Massachusetts
In 2013 HomeWorks Energy was a small energy efficiency contractor in MA struggling for survival. In 2023, as the largest HPC in MA & CT, HomeWorks performed more than 35,000 energy assessments, 15,000 residential weatherization jobs, and installed more than 1,500 HVAC units. This presentation will build on the success of "Blueprint For Growth" from NHPC '23 with brand new lessons learned scaling an HPC including:
- Think Big, Plan Small: How to combine long-term goals with short-term plans to create actionable projections. - Follow the Money: The importance of running your financials like a company twice your size. - Culture Matters: How to ensure the right decisions are made at every level of the organization - How programs can be adjusted to help create structures that support contractor growth.
HomeWorks Energy has learned that significant investments in people, systems, and resources can turn a small contracting business into a high-volume program leader, dramatically growing our long-term impact on the environment and in our communities. Learn from the mistakes we made along the way to help your business or program achieve the same.
