Building Scientist Retrotec Wilmington, North Carolina
If you’re a home performance or weatherization contractor, then you’re no stranger to the blower door test. Its an essential part of verifying performance in any type of building. But blower doors can do so much more. Not only can we measure leakage in building envelopes, we can locate where the leakage is occurring if the air tightness result isn't to a required or desired standard. This way, excessive leakage can be sealed to help the building perform better. In this session, we’ll cover a variety of ways the blower door can be used to locate leaks. The manometer itself is a powerful tool that can be used to uncover a variety of performance and comfort issues. Blower door manufacturers provide a variety of additional tools and software to help testers get the most out of their manometers to ensure tests are conducted accurately and quickly. Join us as we go through many of the tests and functions that can be done with the components that come with a blower door system. Bring your questions!
