There are over 100 million homes that would benefit from an energy upgrade - visit us at Booth 111 to see a live demonstration of AIRS (Adding Insulation when Re-Siding) and examples of window retrofits (SWIP - Storm Windows and Insulating Panels) that save lots of energy on a low budget and big comfort with limited disruption. Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's (PNNL) Residential Buildings Integration (RBI) team performs research and analysis to help homeowners and contractors choose investments that yield energy savings, comfort, and durability. Our specialty is working directly with manufacturers, builders, and policy stakeholders to promote best practice guidance and novel methods and materials to reduce America's energy and carbon footprint.
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is one of the United States Department of Energy national laboratories, managed by the Department of Energy's Office of Science. Our main campus is in Richland, Washington, but a large number of our team members work from their homes around the country! RBI is part of the Building Systems Group under the Electricity Infrastructure and Buildings Division.
