Housing & Energy Project Coordinator
Three3, Inc.
Knoxville, Tennessee
Laura is the Housing and Energy Project Coordinator with Three3 and is currently supporting projects that include an alert system helping elders in energy and environmental justice communities age in place; a study of indoor air quality in weatherized and unweatherized homes on respiratory health; and using expected climate impacts to determine benefits and vulnerabilities in weatherized homes. She is most motivated participating directly in homes where help is needed the most. Laura Humphrey is driven by service and the need for impactful policy research for equitable and resilient communities for all. She earned her graduate degree in public policy and administration, concentrating in energy and environmental policy, from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She found her public policy niche in environmental and energy justice. She organized Knoxville’s first Mayoral Energy Forum and spoke publicly about the continuing disproportionate energy burden in the southeast. Laura’s goal is to continue connecting communities, encouraging participation, and serving through policy research and education to drive resiliency in our Appalachian and diverse southeastern communities.
