Colin Choney is the Housing Rehabilitation Director at Green & Healthy Homes Initiative where he leads the expanding operations of the electrification, energy efficiency, lead paint hazard remediation, Aging in Place (senior), Housing Upgrades Benefiting Seniors (HUBS), and health and safety housing intervention services.
Colin has more than 11 years of industry experience. He began his career as a home energy auditor and holds Building Performance Institute Building Analyst and Envelope Specialist certificates. He has worked with several state programs to improve operational efficiencies, job training programs, and he helped develop energy modeling and program data management software which is used by several low-income energy efficiency programs across the country.
Colin previously served as General Manager for a home performance contracting company and Senior Program Manager at Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development where he led the EmPOWER Maryland Low-Income Energy Efficiency Program and the Customer Investment Fund Enhanced Weatherization Program providing whole-home energy efficiency and health and safety remediations. He has served on the board of directors for The National Association for State Community Services Programs (NASCSP) and Maryland Building Performance Association (MDBPA).
