Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL)
Oak Ridge, Tennessee
Zhenlei Liu joined Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Zhenlei received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University, where he conducted cutting-edge research on building energy efficiency and indoor air quality. He developed models for simulating Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) emission under various indoor environment conditions with a model-based testing method. Furthermore, he led and participated in many studies: the effect of building environments on human performance, disease transmission and control (COVID-19) in indoor spaces, and implementation of Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) materials in building and HVAC equipment.
At ORNL, Zhenlei will leverage his experience on modeling and hands-on experiments to conduct research on Non-Energy Impact (NEI) for cost-effectiveness calculation and Measurement and Verification (M&V) that belongs to DOE’s Weatherization Assistance Program.
