Lester Shen has over forty years experience performing building energy efficiency research and program development and delivery. Prior to retiring in 2024, he was a Senior Research Engineer at the Center for Energy and Environment where his work included research in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Previously, he was the Associate Dean of the BS:Visualization Program at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and a Research Associate with the University of Minnesota’s Underground Space Center. His work at Underground Space Center included analysis of building foundation heat loss and low-income weatherization program delivery.
Lester has a BS in chemistry from Haverford College, a Master's of Mechanical Engineering (MSME) from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
