Ryan Johnson is a Materials Researcher for Healthy Building Network (HBN). He holds a BS in Chemistry and an MS in Environmental Health Sciences. Ryan’s interest in building materials began as a student working part-time conducting CDPH emissions tests. From there he moved on to a full-time position in the Indoor Exposure Assessment section at the California Air Resources Board. After taking a hiatus from work in the built environment for a number of years, he began working for HBN in 2019. Ryan currently works with the HBN research team to stay on top of trends in building product formulations, and generating guidance aimed at reducing the human and environmental health impacts of building materials.
