Nick Hurst is an Environmental Protection Specialist with the US EPA and the Program Manager of EPA’s Indoor airPLUS label for homes. He’s been involved in the construction industry for over 20 years as a framer, a self-employed remodeler, a project manager for custom homes, and a green building consultant/trainer.
Nick earned a Master’s in Technology concentrating in Building Science from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, and he later served as Education and Outreach Director for the NC Energy Efficiency Alliance at ASU’s Energy Center. Before joining EPA, Nick worked as a consultant at ICF in their Federal Energy Efficiency portfolio.
Nick has done training under numerous national certification programs (BPI, RESNET, USGBC, PHIUS) and participates with standard setting organizations and technical committees, including ASHRAE 62.2 and ANSI/AARST CCAH. Nick also serves as a technical advisor for the Energy and Environmental Building Alliance (EEBA) Board of Directors.
