Omkar Ghatpande is a research engineer in the Building Technologies and Science Center at National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). He has completed his graduate and undergraduate studies in electrical engineering. At NREL his research focus is on electrical distribution systems and electrification in buildings, conducting load flexibility experiments in the lab, and evaluating new technologies in field study projects. He is also a member of the Better Building Alliance’s (BBA) plug and process loads (PPL) technology research team. Prior to NREL, Omkar worked as a senior electrical engineer at ABB and as a solutions development engineer at Honeywell in their buildings team.
