Dr. Karagiozis is a Center Director at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory is responsible for leading, shaping, driving, educating and training others in renewable energy and building science. Achilles was the Global Director of Building Science for Owens Corning for nearly a decade. His activities involve feeding NREL's innovation pipeline with customer-inspired and Thermal science-informed solutions. Dr. Karagiozis was a distinguished research and development engineer at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and performed research at ORNL in heat, air and moisture performance of buildings.
Dr. Karagiozis is one of the leading building scientists in North America. He has been performing building science research for the past 33 years, trained more than 2400 professionals in moisture design, and championed and assisted in the development of innovative material systems and building systems concepts.
