Dr. Michelle Del Rio is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, School of Public Health at Indiana University in Bloomington. She is an environmental health scientist with approximately 8 years of research experience in childhood Pb poisoning prevention. Dr. Del Rio conducts interdisciplinary, and community engaged research to understand the relationships between environmental exposures and determinants of health and inform multilevel interventions for under-resourced communities and socially vulnerable populations. Her current projects aim to reduce water insecurity in rural communities in Indiana and prevent chronic low-level Pb exposure in U.S. children.
