Ithaca, New York
Susannah Krysko manages the StopPests in Housing Program at Cornell University's Northeastern IPM Center. Since 2014 she and her team provided free integrated pest management (IPM) training and technical assistance to over 200 affordable housing properties across the country and have spoken at dozens of state, regional, and national housing conferences to share safe and effective strategies to control pests and make homes healthier. Before StopPests, Susannah was a horticulture and agriculture specialist at Cornell Cooperative Extension, Tioga County, where she provided pest management recommendations, taught workshops, managed volunteers, and organized events promoting local agriculture. She has a BA in Anthropology from The State University of New York at Geneseo, an MS in Sustainable Systems from Slippery Rock University, and continued her studies at Cornell University in entomology. These interest all come together in Susannah’s extension work as she brings science-based solutions to real world problems, creating healthier, more sustainable communities. Susannah lives with her family in Spencer NY and when not teaching people about pest management, she’s managing pests in her own gardens and 1743 farmhouse.
