Engaging Tribal Nations in energy efficiency programs has been a challenge in the past. Focus on Energy has successfully engaged tribal communities across both the residential and commercial sectors starting in 2022. With several renewable energy and efficiency projects completed in 2022, the pilot was expanded into a multi-year offering for greater annual budget and completion time flexibility, a key lesson learned in the pilot process. In this interactive session, attendees will learn how to establish partnerships with Tribal Nations, customize offerings with each community based on their uniqueness, and learn how Focus on Energy was successful along with successes shared by attendees. Achievements and lessons learned for other programs considering engaging tribal communities will be discussed.
